We had a wonderful time and it was very difficult to come back. We would definitely recommend the Aston Kaanapali Shores on Maui and the Embassy Suites in Waikiki on Oahu. The Aston had the best view and a very nice restaurant. The Embassy Suites was close to everything, had a wonderful restaurant that we ate at every night, and was the best as cleanliness and friendly staff. It also had an extensive free breakfast, which is a selling point in my book. As far as the Hilton Waikoloa, while it was a nice hotel, with great scenery and a boat ride, the amount of walking involved to get to and from the hotel room made leaving the resort tiresome. It would be a great place for a family or for people who don’t want to leave the resort often, but for those who would want to explore the island, not so much. Plus, our room was right next to the service area, so it was a bit noisy and they charged me twice for the stuffed dolphin. It isn’t a bad place to stay, just not really for us.

Working with Jennifer at VIP was wonderful and made my life much easier. Since we stayed on three islands, there was a lot of information to process and she helped narrow it down to a manageable level. I still felt like we had choices, but it was much easier to research 2 or 3 hotels, rather than hundreds. I really appreciate how helpful that she was, even when we had to change our plans and fly into Denver instead of Albuquerque to visit my sister.
