The Elite Experience provided advisors with the opportunity to network with fellow industry professionals while experiencing one of the Dominican Republic’s newest luxury all-inclusive resorts. Doncsecz stayed in a Tropical View King Room, which blended modern accommodations with the surrounding tropical environment. The property’s upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, combined with its extensive greenery and contemporary design, helped create a boutique-style luxury experience.

Dining experiences throughout the resort were a highlight of the event. Restaurants included Manicato, the resort’s Italian dining venue, as well as Toa, a Taíno-inspired restaurant serving local Caribbean cuisine with modern presentation and creative use of native ingredients. The resort also featured more casual offerings including a food truck serving wings and burgers.

Additional standout amenities included an upscale coffee shop offering specialty coffee beverages as part of the all-inclusive experience, elevated cocktail programs throughout the resort, fast and attentive service, a beautiful main pool area, and a relaxing beachfront atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the trip was an immersive excursion experience at River Ranch, which showcased the natural beauty and culture of the Dominican Republic beyond the resort. The adventure featured a 4×4 dune buggy and ATV journey through the Dominican countryside along private trails with scenic tropical views.  During the excursion, attendees visited a traditional Dominican country home where they learned about locally produced goods and enjoyed a hands-on cultural experience featuring authentic Dominican cuisine, freshly brewed coffee, and organic hot chocolate. The tour also included visits to natural river areas where guests were able to swim, walk through the refreshing waters, and experience the lush surrounding landscape firsthand. Stops along the way highlighted local history and nature, including the ancient La Ceiba tree, considered significant to the indigenous Taíno culture.

Located approximately 90 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, Zemi Miches delivers a more secluded and tranquil alternative to the busier Bávaro and Punta Cana hotel zones. The property offers multiple pools, wellness activities, non-motorized water sports, entertainment, and destination wedding venues ideal for couples and groups seeking a modern luxury experience in the Dominican Republic.

I stayed in a Tropical View King Room, which featured modern Caribbean-inspired décor with a sleek yet comfortable design.  I could see water from my balcony, which was a pleasant surprise for a primarily Tropical View labelled room. The room felt spacious and relaxing, blending contemporary luxury with the surrounding tropical environment. The overall aesthetic of the resort feels upscale and boutique-like while still offering the amenities of a larger all-inclusive property.

Dining was one of the highlights of the experience. I had the opportunity to dine at Manicato, the resort’s Italian restaurant, which offered excellent food quality and a very polished dining experience.  As a typical millennial, I loved the charcuterie station which offered a large variety of high end meats, cheeses, and other dips.  I also enjoyed dinner at Toa, the resort’s Taíno-inspired restaurant that focuses on local Caribbean cuisine and native ingredients presented through a modern cultural lens.  Both restaurants clearly emphasized artistic plating and elevated presentation, making the meals feel special beyond just the food itself.  For more casual dining, I opted three times for the laid-back food truck area serving wings and burgers, which was a great option during the day.  Another standout feature was the coffee shop!  It was never crowded and offered excellent high-end specialty coffee drinks included as part of the all-inclusive experience, which is something many clients would appreciate.

The resort’s beverage program also impressed me. Drinks felt very high-end compared to many all-inclusive resorts, and service throughout the bars and lounges was consistently quick and attentive.

The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, with plenty of seating and a very upscale atmosphere. The beach itself was scenic and peaceful, perfect for relaxing walks or lounging, although I would not necessarily describe it as the ideal swimmable beach compared to some calmer Caribbean waters.

What was incredibly surprising and noteworthy, the staff at Zemi Miches included the best service I’ve ever experienced in the Dominican Republic.  Friendly faces who remember you on a day to day basis, say hello, and care about your experience.  They constantly went out of their way to strike up conversation about favorite baseball team’s, travelling the world, and favorite experiences on the island. 

As someone who loves to get a workout it in while on vacation, Zemi had a great gym with tons of multi-functional equipment and boundless cardio machines.  I’d rank this as my 5^th favorite resort gym (Yes, I have a list)! 

Zemi Miches is located in the more secluded Miches region of the Dominican Republic, approximately 90 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. This more remote setting helps create the tranquil atmosphere that makes the resort feel so different from the busier Bávaro and Punta Cana hotel zones.

The resort offers a variety of activities and amenities including:

• Multiple pools
• Fitness center and wellness classes
• Non-motorized water sports
• Kids Club
• Nightly entertainment
• Spa experiences
• Pickleball and recreational activities

For weddings and groups, the property has strong potential with beautiful beachfront ceremony locations, modern event spaces, and an upscale design aesthetic that works especially well for couples looking for a modern tropical luxury feel.

Overall, I would recommend Zemi Miches for clients looking for:

• A luxury all-inclusive with a unique atmosphere
• A quieter and more secluded Dominican Republic experience
• Strong food and beverage quality
• Beautiful tropical scenery
• Couples, honeymooners, destination weddings, and upscale family vacationers seeking relaxation over nightlife

It’s a refreshing addition to the Dominican Republic resort scene and offers an experience that feels much more connected to nature and tranquility than many traditional all-inclusive properties in the region.

Culinary artistry is also a cornerstone of the experience at this resort! This all-inclusive resort has 18 distinctive restaurant and bar concepts. The resort has made a concerted effort to create dining options with a focus on unique, upscale menus. The food is incredible and lives up to the 5-star rating. Two of my favorites are the Italian Trattoria called Fi’lia, and the New York-style steakhouse called Union. This resort also features an Asian fusion restaurant and a Mexican restaurant, along with several other dining options. Closer to the beach is their Mediterranean beach club, which is a definitive departure from the typical all-inclusive fare. One of their fun bars is “Smoke & Mirrors,” which is a Speakeasy and Cigar bar.

Beyond the dining, the resort is a true destination for wellness and entertainment. The sprawling 20,000 square foot Ciel Spa offers thermal baths (hot & cold plunge pools) and 20 treatment rooms. There is also a state-of-the-art fitness program and a large fitness center called SLS Sculpt.

For families, the Coati Club and Teen Lounge offer a range of fun activities, and there is also a water park available. For kids and adults, there is a plush indoor theater/cinema. The resort also features four swimming pools, a private marina, and a nearby Greg Norman-designed golf course.  

The new SLS Playa Mujeres successfully marries the ease of all-inclusive travel with high-design, world-class dining, and a vibrant, luxurious lifestyle. The amenities are extensive and cater to every guest, from families to couples seeking luxury and relaxation.
