Top Five Ways to Romance in Disney

VIP Vacations Disney Expert -Megan’s- top five picks for the romantics looking to share their Disney experience with that special someone — that maybe not everyone knows about!

Dine to your Heart's Content

#5 Dine to your Heart’s Content

Disney is known for much more than just its characters and attractions. Disney offers hundreds of special dining experiences, each with their own atmospheric difference and intricacies. One of the more specifically romantic restaurants is off property at the prestigious Grand Floridian Resort: Victoria & Albert’s. There is also the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary Resort, where a couple may share dessert with a perfect view of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks. But what better way to make your Princess FEEL like a Princess by having a special dinner at either Belle’s Castle with Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Castle with Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Your Carriage Awaits

#4 Your Carriage Awaits

Who said romance is dead? It’s back and it’s more classic than ever. Travel to Port Orleans Riverside to set up a private ride via horse drawn carriage. Enjoy a leisurely ride along the embankment and all over Port Orleans’ beautiful landscape. The ride is about a half hour long and is also offered at Fort Wilderness Lodge. You can make reservations in advance and it only costs about $55 for the entire experience.

Treat Yourself

#3 Treat Yourself

There’s nothing quite like a good massage. Disney offers Spa Treatments, and what’s more romantic than getting a couples massage. Both the Contemporary Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian Resort, Coronado Springs, and Saratoga Springs have Spas on property and offer multiple options and durations for individualized treatment. Be sure to contact your travel agent to ask for specific packages and their costs before reservations!

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

#2 The Lion Sleeps Tonight

One of my favorite rides at the Animal Kingdom Park is the Kilamanjaro Safari. Being able to see all of the animals in the habitat provided by Disney is sure to be a highlight for many, but did you know that they do private group safari trips both at the park and the Animal Kingdom Lodge? The more important option worth note is what’s called the Starlight Safari, which takes place after dusk; Watching the sunset until the stars light up the sky. At $75 per person, you’ll see more than 30 species of African Wildlife closer than ever on this guided tour.

Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After

#1 Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After

Disney has no shortage of Magical Fireworks displays that are sure to blow you away. Something I’ve personally witnessed and find both romantic and spectacular is the previously called “Wishes” but now called Once Upon a Time fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. Both Once Upon and Happily Ever After take place at Magic Kingdom and both are separate shows at separate times with separate spectacles for you and your loved ones to cherish together. If you want good seats, try to look at Disney’s Dessert Packages both in and out of the parks(for a small added fee, of course). It’s all worth it in the end, after all.
