Melissa’s Adventure on Anthem of the Seas

November 25, 2015

This November I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Inaugural sailing of Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Sea’s, and I can tell you I was not disappointed. Every last detail from check in to check out was simply phenomenal.  As I took this trip as a vacation and not a work trip. I just really wanted to share my experience with you!

I have been on many other cruises in the past, both Royal Caribbean and other brands alike and I can say this is the best experience I have had thus far. As a foodie and a child at heart, they really hit all of my value buttons from the gourmet restaurants to the bumper cars and indoor skydiving!

One of my favorite highlights was all the advancements the ship made regarding technology. The first thing my boyfriend and I did once on board was get a drink from the robotic bartenders. This was the first time I had seen technology anything like this and I will admit it was super cool and definitely something you would go home and talk about.

In addition to the robotic bar, there was also new technology implemented in the inside staterooms!

My boyfriend, being the tech wiz that he is, was very excited about experiencing these new rooms. Many times guests do not want to stay in the interior cabins because you usually get zero views of the outside. To alleviate this, Royal Caribbean has created what they call the “virtual balcony” which is essentially a huge screen streaming views from the outside.

As you can see, it really does feel like you have a balcony – minus the fact that you aren’t getting any real fresh air. I thought this was a really smart way of making the room feel larger and letting people enjoy the views.

We also had the pleasure of seeing the aerial show that takes place at the Two70°SM – you will definitely not want to miss this!

The show was like a little slice of Cirque de Soleil. The dancers came down from the ceiling and up through the floor as the space completely transformed around them – it was stunning. A great show for all ages. (Just a little tip – if you are traveling with kids who cannot sit still long, this may be a better show to go to! You can come and go at your leisure!) Unfortunately we did not make it to any of the other shows but they did get rave reviews!

I wanted to end with a picture from my favorite part of the trip, the IFly by RipCord.

This is a brand new feature on the Royal Caribbean ships and it is the most fun I have had in a very long time. You get about one minute up in the air, but it is totally worth it! Fun for all ages and you get stunning views of the ocean! You really feel like you are flying!

If you have any questions about anything I did not cover! (I just gave my favorite highlights) please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Everything about this ship was amazing and I would love to provide more details. And of course, thanks for reading!
